Where to inject peptides and how to rotate sites

The five subcutaneous injection areas, the technique, and a rotation that keeps the skin healthy and absorption even.

The compounds in uPrime are injected subcutaneously: into the layer of fat just under the skin, not into muscle. That layer is easy to reach in five areas of the body, and moving from one site to the next every time is the simplest way to keep injections comfortable and absorption even.

The five areas

  • Abdomen: at least 5 cm (2 in) from the navel, in the soft fatty area of the belly. Avoid scars, stretch marks and the waistband line. It is the most common site, with fast and consistent absorption.
  • Thigh: the front-outer side, in the middle third, a hand’s width below the hip and a hand’s width above the knee. Absorption is a little slower than in the abdomen.
  • Back of the upper arm: the fatty area halfway between shoulder and elbow. Hard to reach on your own; easier with help.
  • Upper buttock: the upper outer quarter, where the fat layer is thick.
  • Love handles (flank): the fatty area on the side of the waist, above the hip bone. A good alternative when the abdomen needs a rest.

Technique

  1. Use a 1 ml insulin syringe with a fine needle, 29–31 G and 6–13 mm (¼–½ in) long.
  2. Clean the skin with an alcohol swab and let it dry.
  3. Pinch a fold of skin. Insert the needle in one smooth motion: at 90° with short needles or enough fat, at 45° if you are lean or the needle is longer.
  4. Push the plunger slowly, wait 5 seconds, then pull the needle out and release the skin.
  5. Put the used needle straight into a sharps container.

Rotation rules

  • Follow a fixed order of sites, so each one rests before you come back to it.
  • Inside the same site, inject at least 2.5 cm (1 in, about two fingers) away from the last point.
  • Do not use the exact same spot again for 1–2 weeks.
  • Skip any area that is red, swollen, bruised, hard or painful.

Why rotation matters

Injecting the same spot over and over causes lipohypertrophy: hard, lumpy fat that absorbs the compound poorly and unevenly. Rotating sites prevents it, and it also lets small bruises and irritation heal before the next injection in that area.

The injection guide shows 12 numbered points in rotation order, and in My profile uPrime suggests the next site for each dose and remembers your rotation on all your devices.
