How to store peptides before and after mixing

Keeping peptide powder and mixed vials in good condition: temperatures, light, how long they keep, travelling and when to throw a vial away.

Peptides are fragile molecules: heat, light and repeated temperature changes break them down. Storing them well keeps every dose as strong as the first.

Powder (not mixed)

  • Keep it cold, dry and away from light.
  • In the fridge it keeps for months; for long-term storage, the freezer.
  • Let a cold vial reach room temperature before opening the packaging, so moisture does not condense on it.

Mixed vials

  • Fridge at 2–8 °C, away from light. A shelf inside the fridge is steadier than the door.
  • Most mixed peptides keep for about 4 weeks. Each compound page in uPrime shows how many days its vial keeps, and the reminders can warn you when a vial in use has passed them.
  • Never freeze a mixed vial.
  • Write on the label the day you mixed it and its concentration.

Bacteriostatic water

An unopened vial of bacteriostatic water keeps until its expiry date. Once opened, it is usually used within 28 days, the same as other multi-dose vials.

Travelling

  • Carry mixed vials in an insulated bag with a cold pack, without direct contact with ice.
  • Never leave them in a hot car or in direct sun.
  • Put them back in a fridge as soon as you can.

When to throw a vial away

  • It turns cloudy, changes color or shows particles.
  • It has been mixed for longer than its keeping days.
  • It has been frozen after mixing, or left warm for hours.

With the vial inventory in My profile, uPrime counts what is left in each open vial, shows until when it keeps and warns you a week before your vials run out.
