Growth hormone & performance
Hexarelin
A potent growth-hormone-releasing peptide tested in small human trials, including for heart effects. Its effect tends to fade with continuous use.
How it works
A potent ghrelin-receptor agonist. It also binds the CD36 receptor in the heart, which may explain heart effects that do not depend on growth hormone.
What it is used for
Releasing GH. Researched for heart function.
What the evidence says
Small human studies show a strong GH release that fades with repeated use. The heart research is mostly in animals and small groups.
Side effects and cautions
It raises cortisol and prolactin more than other GHRPs, causes water retention and loses effect over time.
Half-life
About 55–70 minutes (vendor estimate)
Makes sense for
- Short GH-raising cycles
Does not make sense for
- Long continuous use (its effect fades)
- Active cancer
- High prolactin
Boost the effect
- Inject on an empty stomach (2 hours after eating, no food for 30 minutes after): sugar and fat blunt the growth-hormone release
- Evening dose before bed and deep sleep: most growth hormone is released in deep sleep
- Enough protein: growth hormone needs building material to work on
